Ingredients:

rye whiskey, cognac, sweet vermouth, bénédictine, peychaud's bitters, angostura bitters

Created in the 1930s at the Hotel Monteleone in New Orleans. The name means 'old square' in French, referring to the historic French Quarter.

Ingredients

rye whiskey 0.75 oz
cognac 0.75 oz
sweet vermouth 0.75 oz
bénédictine 0.25 oz
peychaud's bitters 2 dashes
angostura bitters 2 dashes

Instructions

Stir all ingredients with ice in a mixing glass until very well chilled. Strain into a chilled rocks glass over a large ice cube. Garnish with a lemon twist.
